Chicco MyFit Zip Air Harness Booster Recall

Today Chicco USA is recalling certain MyFit Zip Air Models manufactured between September 2020 - August 2024. Only the Zip Air Models manufactured during that date range are recalled, and it’s a very minor issue that won’t affect 99% of installations.

Recalled MyFit Zip Air Models:

Only these two model numbers are affected: #07079561970070, 04079561190070

Units Affected: 30,984

Regular MyFit & MyFit Zip Models are NOT Recalled!

The issue is with a lap belt-only installation without the use of the tether when a child weighing between 25-40 lbs. uses the MyFit Zip Air in recline positions 3 or 4. If you are one of the rare people who need to install your MyFit Zip Air in a vehicle with a lap-only seatbelt and no tether - and your child weighs between 25-40 lbs. - just use recline positions 1 or 2 and you avoid the issue. It’s that simple.

Even though it’s that simple - we know this recall will probably cause some confusion for MyFit owners, so we made a handy flow chart!

Registered owners of Chicco MyFit Zip Air models will be notified of the recall. A remedy is still being evaluated but will likely include an update to the MyFit Zip Air instruction manual that limits the usable recline positions for children weighing less than 40 lbs. when installing with lap belt and no tether. We will update when additional information becomes available.
